David McConville at TEDxAsheville 2009
In 2010, the goal of the steering committee as we move forward with future events is to “create a community for ideas worth spreading” here in Asheville. In an effort to attain that goal we are establishing and testing new systems to ensure the viability of future TEDxAsheville conferences.
SUSTAINABILITY: In order to become a self-sustaining conference, registration, ticketing have been established. Minimal charges for tickets have been established to underwrite the major costs of the event.
Integration: TED Conferences has created partnerships with Ustream to livestream all TEDx events for free. The TEDxAsheville steering committee is creating relationships with local businesses and hangouts to livestream the event to their patrons, ensuring that people that wish to experience TEDxAsheville will have the opportunity, even after tickets are sold out.
RECYCLING: As an ongoing effort to do our part, TEDxAsheville has created a recycling project that will alternate year after year. In 2010, the TEDxAsheville Conference is sponsoring an on-site Computer Recycling Program in partnership with Charlotte Street Computers. To find out more about the 2010 Recycling Program, visit our Recycling Program page.
If you are interested in Livestreaming the 2010 TEDxAsheville Conference, register to host an event HERE and we will publish that information on our site.
